This organization helps individuals and families work toward increased education, income stability and healthy lives. With nearly 1,800 locations in 45 countries and territories, United Way is dedicated to advancing the common good and mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world.

The American Red Cross is dedicated to preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners. In times of need, the Red Cross works hard to give care, shelter and hope to those affected.

This nonprofit organization is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Its network of food banks is able to feed more than 37 million people through the work of food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters in communities across America.

Every August, teams of associates and affiliates across Raymond James participate in a firm-wide community service program focused on benefiting local communities. While the firm supports community service efforts and charitable giving throughout the year, August is dubbed Raymond James Cares Month to inspire a collective effort and impact.

This nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry is devoted to building or renovating simple, decent houses in partnership with those in need. With more than 1,500 local affiliates in the United States and more than 70 national organizations worldwide, Habitat for Humanity has helped to build or repair more than 800,000 houses and serve more than 4 million people.

Junior Achievement is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization focused on providing economic education in classrooms across America and in 123 countries worldwide. Its efforts reach over 9.7 million students each year and provide them with positive adult role models who educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business and economics to improve the quality of their lives.

Here are some of the initiatives that are most important to us.
- Matt is a current board member of Charleston Jazz, an organization promoting Charleston’s rich jazz history, hosting numerous shows through its world class Charleston Jazz Orchestra and smaller ensembles of talented musicians, and recently opening a Jazz Academy offering music training/exposure to young talented artists including a high percent of need based scholarship students.
- Chris currently serves on the Town of Awendaw’s Board of Zoning Appeals.
- Matt has volunteered for Metanoia’s “Freedom School” as a karate instructor for the past 10 summers. Metanoia is a community re-development organization in North Charleston helping young leaders and the local residents improve their neighborhood through empowerment rather than entitlement.
- Chris currently helps as a coach for the Mt Pleasant Track Club and is a USA Track and Field Certified Official. He has also served as Secretary of the Deaconate at East Cooper Baptist Church where he also helped run their summer Children’s Ministry.
- Matt has volunteered as a Big Brother for several years, a Rotary reader, a Junior Achievement volunteer, and numerous other mentoring roles.
- We regularly support local entrepreneurs through Harbor Accelerator and other entrepreneur resource groups and we welcome phone calls to answer any questions you may want to discuss further.
- Every year the Harbour Wealth Management Group donates to various charities during the holiday, some of which are shown below.
ORGANIZATIONS
We were delighted to sponsor The Harbor Entrepreneur Center's Founder's Ball and honored to present Entrepreneur of the Year to two inspiring local business owners: Adam Witty of Advantage Media Group and David Brown of Shine Brands. Both are serial entrepreneurs who give of their time and talents back to the community--Congratulations!
